St John’s Community Cinema invites you to celebrate the late, great Sam Neill! We’d love for you to join us at St John’s for a screening of the magical family favourite, Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

Who are we?

Run by a fantastic group of local volunteers, and born out of a love for film and fellowship, our cinema is rooted right here in the heart of Leytonstone. Whether you’re a massive film fan or simply fancy an opportunity to meet your neighbours, come along and be entertained!

The Details

· When: Saturday 12th September

· Time: Doors open at 2.30pm | Film starts at 3.00pm 

· Running Time: 101 minutes (plus a 10-minute interval)

· Where: St John the Baptist's Church, 825 High Rd Leytonstone, Bushwood, London E11 1HH

· Entry: Free or "Pay What You Can" (Suggested donation: £3 person / £6 family) - no need to book, just turn up!

· Teens: Free!

· Food & Drink: Bring your own snacks, or visit our affordable on-site bar for wine, soft drinks, and light refreshments.

· Accessibility: Captioned for the D/deaf, deafened or hard of hearing. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible via a ramp and has accessible toilets.

 Feel free to bring a cushion to sit on!

About the Film: 

This is a widely acclaimed New Zealand-based adventure-comedy, described by critics as "charming and funny" and "a big-hearted picture full of small, understated moments of magic". It concerns a young city kid who goes on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle in the wild New Zealand bush when his foster mother dies. This leads to a national manhunt, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive. Come along and be charmed!
