In celebration of Breastfeeding week, come along and celebrate, connect and empower black breastfeeding families and their community.
Join us for an empowering and supportive Black Breastfeeding Event designed to celebrate, promote, and strengthen breastfeeding within Black communities. This event will provide practical guidance, and culturally relevant support for expectant and new parents, families, and caregivers.
Participants will learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common challenges, building confidence in their feeding journey, and accessing local support networks. The workshop also creates a safe space to discuss the unique experiences, barriers, and inequalities that can affect Black breastfeeding families, while sharing knowledge, resources, and encouragement.
Whether you are pregnant, currently breastfeeding, or supporting someone who is, this workshop offers an opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals, peer supporters, and other families in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Key topics include:
Preparing for breastfeeding
Latch and positioning techniques
Managing common breastfeeding challenges
Maternal wellbeing and self-care
Cultural influences and breastfeeding in Black communities
Available local support and resources
Together, we aim to empower Black families with the knowledge, confidence, and community support needed to achieve their breastfeeding goals and improve health outcomes for parents and babies.
All families welcome!
